Arthur I. Anderson is Of Counsel in the Boston office of Fish & Richardson, where he is a member of the Corporate and Securities Group. Mr. Anderson was previously a partner at the Boston office of another AmLaw 100 firm, where he served as partner-in-charge of the Corporate Department, as well as one of the founders of the firm's Private Equity/Emerging Companies and of its Energy Group.

Mr. Anderson has represented high-tech, emerging-growth companies, in industries ranging from software, internet infrastructure and telecommunications to e-commerce, medical technology and energy, as well as the representation of the venture capital funds in the investment process. He has also worked extensively with energy related companies in connection with the restructuring and ongoing consolidation taking place in that industry.

Past clients of Mr. Anderson's include Eastern Utilities Associates and Fidelity Investments. He has also represented a wide-range of emerging companies in all aspects of their operations, including venture financings with first tier vc’s, angel rounds, down rounds, successful exits. Several of his emerging company clients are developing products using off shore resources and one recently reincorporated in the British Virgin Islands after being founded in Pakistan. Additionally, Mr. Anderson worked closely with Ray Kurzweil, a noted inventor, on new technology ventures, including the company which is commercializing his highly acclaimed hand held reader for the blind.

He has also performed pro bono work for the Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North America, Berklee College of Music, and the Bay View Summer Music Festival and Conservatory.

Arthur received his bachelor's degree, Phi Beta Kappa and with highest distinction from Northwestern University in 1973. In 1978, he graduated, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.

Mr. Anderson is the saxophonist in two benefit rock bands, White Collar Crime and King Arthur’s Court.

He recently co-authored an article with former Massachusetts Governor William Weld which appears in the April 2007 issue of Corporate Counsel and discusses the need for companies to establish a new high level officer position which they call the CEE (Chief of Energy) to address energy and energy efficiency issues.
